In the Development phase, the Design Specification provides a blueprint for the creation of the "client-side" portion of the website. If Onlinefocus is contracted to do the "server-side" development as well, then this phase includes the end-to-end development of the finished website. Otherwise, the result of this phase is typically a complete, organized set of HTML templates, including any client-side JavaScript. The following aspects are included in this phase:
Production
Software Development
QA Testing
|
|
Onlinefocus prepares the website, application or other interactive product for review on its staging server, accessible directly via password, or indirectly through the Project Extranet. The client is able to review the progress of the website throughout the Development phase.
Using a test plan and custom test cases, Onlinefocus conducts an ongoing series of internal tests on the website. If needed, the site will undergo changes, bug fixes, etc., until the website is functioning according to the test plan, the site design, and the functional specifications.
In addition to the frequent informal reviews of the developing website, the development cycle includes a series of pre-defined milestones at which more formal reviews are scheduled. At each milestone, when the client has finished its review and testing, Onlinefocus will document the review comments and feedback and obtain a sign-off from The client, conditional on incorporating any required changes into the next milestone delivery. When the website is essentially complete, lacking only the final rounds of testing, a Site Freeze is declared, signifying the end of the Development phase.
