Heuristic Analysis
Heuristic Analysis   Often you already have a functioning web application, web site or prototype. Onlinefocus conducts a careful assessment of the existing product interface in relation to current Web interface "best practices" and standards. A multidisciplinary team of professionals, including experts in user experience design, human factors, visual communication, marketing, and branding review the existing interface to identify problems as well as opportunities. We perform a heuristic analysis of the following factors.

Usability
This includes, but is not limited to the following: immediate impression of usability; predictability; effectiveness and adequacy of feedback; consistency; ease of navigation; copywriting (tone, "voice" and clarity, including text messages and item labels); logical sequencing of steps; content prioritization and use of real estate; usefulness of error messages.

Visual Communication
Visual communication is closely tied to usability. The heuristic analysis addresses issues such as prominence of most important information, comprehensibility of interface objects, and "visual affordances" (does an interface object do what it looks like it will do.)

Branding
Here we address whether the product is representative of the company image, supports the overall vision and direction, and delivers a consistent message. This includes perception of quality, consistency in execution, and visual style - from photographic image to iconography.

Technical Design
This includes an analysis of the operating system; the development environment and languages; the systems architecture; database software; hosting provisions (local, remote, ASP); application server software (if any), and the projected number of users/data transfers over 1 month period.
