In 1995 FedEx enlisted Onlinefocus to help them create the world's first online shipping application - InternetShip. We've remained partners and collaborators with FedEx on numerous projects ever since. Around the same time, Cathay Pacific Airlines hired us to help them create the first ever online mileage auction. And in 2003, a trailblazing startup called Flightmaker commissioned us to design and build a complex interconnecting system of Public, Member, Operator and Administrative sites and applications that facilitate a flight plan matching process for charter jet travel.
Along the way we've come to understand the particular challenges, constituencies, supply chains and vernacular of the transportation and logistics industry. Some examples of our experience:

The Flight Maker Jet Charter Club reduces the cost of private jet travel to attractive levels by matching small groups of travelers with common itineraries, and then selling the empty return flight legs to other members. Onlinefocus designed and developed a database-driven system to manage it's four websites: The public website, the private Member website, the Charter Jet Operators site, and the Flight Administration website.
In 1995 Onlinefocus designed and developed the original Cathay Pacific site. As part of that relationship, we created the first internet travel auction-the "Cathay Pacific Mileage Auction"; it turned out to be an extremely successful tool which allowed Cathay to reduce empty seats on most flights by approximately 30%.

In 1995 FedEx enlisted Onlinefocus to help them create the world's first shipping application - Internet Ship. Our work on Internet Ship evolved into design work on FedEx's numerous other groundbreaking web applications, including invoice online, ratefinder and all the fedex.com website applications for the 2000 redesign.

Today, we remain a primary Internet design and development partner of FedEx, receiving yearly awards for the web design and solutions created together. With our help, www.fedex.com is one of the top ten Internet transaction sites in the world. In addition to design work, we also assist FedEx in defining its business needs on the web and have performed many in-depth usability studies for FedEx, providing input on improving user workflow for their applications and marketing sites.
