April 23, 2003   Telesymposiums - A New Way Of Knowledge Sharing Debuts in Silicon Valley
Mountain View, April 22, 2003: OnlineFocus, a web design agency, successfully debuted a new way of disseminating and knowledge sharing: telesymposiums.

Part talk and part action, Telesymposiums are seminars conducted by conference call and, according to John Zowin, Sales Coach for OnlineFocus, are free of charge to attendees.

"The format and content of the telesymposiums are designed to allow marketing professionals to glean insights from web experts and share best practices with peers," commented Zowin. "Experts discuss tactics they have used to solve specific web related problems in real world applications. An in-depth Q&A session, coupled with knowledge sharing by attendees follows the expert’s comments to further increase the session’s practical value."

The inaugural telesymposium, "Do You Know Me?: How to Design for Your Audience", featured an in-depth discussion based on years of practical experience on how to improve website ROI by leveraging usability tactics. Laura Malone, Director of User Experience for OnlineFocus, presented a discussion which covered the two critical aspects of designing a user-centric site: audience research and outward-focused design. Illustrated with real examples, the 45 minute presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session which allowed telesymposium attendees to get answers to their specific questions regarding user experience.

Early feedback from the first telesymposium was overwhelmingly positive. Upcoming telesymposiums include: "How Visual Design and Branding Mean Big Bucks" "Improving Online Sales" "Designing for Scalability" and "Globalization and Your Site".
